I went to the exhibition “Pulling the Threads” by Sarah Greaves in Ashton town centre gallery. It was such a great exciting experience for me to see Sarah’s work, because i’ve been working with Sarah for over two years on the Alternative Curriculum Scheme one day a week focusing on design as part of my Silver Arts Award.
I want to share what I felt towards the exhibition, please read below to find out
Inspired
I got inspired by all the work that got put into her exhibition. Also how she talked about all the things we do to ourselves in beauty
Exciting
It was exciting because I got ideas for my show.
Fun
It was fun because it was a new thing I have done before.
Think
The content made me think that people are influenced by a lot of things.
Women
I felt it was aimed at women especially the mirror.
Carbs
The toaster was the most impressive to me.
Pretty
It was pretty because of all the colour and thread and other different materials Sarah had used.
Wow
I felt emotional when I walked into the room, it was beautiful.
Creative
It was very creative because she expressed her art work into a different way than I have seen before and makes you more interested in the work.
First experience
I have been to museums and seen artwork before but I have never had the opportunity to visit an exhibition with the actual artist this felt very special to me.
Moved me
The exhibition moved me emotionally because when I walked into the room certain pieces of room made me realize I do some of them things in day to day life without thinking about them. Such as doing my makeup made me think deeper what this means to me. Putting make up on for me is just a daily routine that made me think I can live with out it sometimes!
It made me realize all the things we do in the name of beauty.
