Steve works on the music team at Gorse Hill where he helps to promote live music; band development, gig promotion, instrumental tuition and DJ skills. Along with other staff and young people he is currently developing the Pulse project which uses electronic sounds heard in genres such as Dubstep but recreated in a live music setting… watch this space.
Steve runs Noisy Toys- an educational sound installation which is often taken to schools and festivals; this year Noisy Toys has been to Glastonbury and Camp Bestival music festivals and to Wrexham Science festival, as well as many other events. Recycling broken computer hard-drives into huge bass generators, taking electronics apart and mucking around with the circuitry, creating amazing sounds with your hands, body and voice using infra-red beams; this is what makes him happy. He will soon be installing some Noisy Toys into Gorse Hill Studios to create a permanent interactive audio environment.
