Engineer, Producer, Keyboard player.

Currently works at Gorse Hill Studios as a youth music worker (engineer, writer and producer) and also writes music for short films, and multimedia projects.

She has worked in the music industry in a number of roles. Mandy moved to Manchester in 1988 and started work as a tape operator, eventually becoming manager at one of Manchester’s main studios where she worked with many artists who have not done too badly since including Oasis, The Verve, 808 State, Inspiral Carpets.

She started her own band (The Sugar Merchants) in 1991 with Martin Merchant, signing with Chrysalis Publishing in the UK and Electra Records in the USA. Leaving the band in 1994 she played keyboards in DJ Justin Robertson’s band Lionrock who reached no. 20 in the Charts with “Rudeboy Rock” which, was performed on TOTP. Lionrock also toured America and Europe and played many festivals including Glastonbury, V and Reading.

Mandy has also worked on projects/remixes for Fat City, Discograph and Sony Records, and has also released club tracks under the name Phoney with DJ’s  Kath Macdermott, Phillipa Jarman & musician Adam Piper. She is currently playing in an organ quartet called “Sisters Of Transistors”…watch this space.
