Zeek

Biography

At the age of 8 Zeek’s brother always came to Gorse Hill Studios. Zeek started to listen to music from his brother’s room such as Nas and Wu Tang Clan. At first Zeek wanted to be a rapper and started freestyling Mcing, with people like Theo and Antonio. His sounds was very real. As time went on, he began to write his own lyrics and He joined a group called G.A.S. This was with Theo (who ran the group) and Antonio, as well as other people. From G.A.S he went to a group called RTC, where he made a few tracks and then he moved to a group called No Limits. And with them Zeek performed at venues such as Lostock Festival and Contact Theatre. He stayed with them for 3 months, and then joined the Shaolin Crew at Gorse Hill when he was 13. He did the vocals for a couple of tracks and then after the group finished, his music direction changed. He began listening to artists like Erykah Badu and producers such as J Dilla, singers like D’Angalo and others. He taught himself how to use the music making software Garage Band after analyzing his brother’s work and being influenced by these artists. He moved on to using Reason 3 with help from his brother Dellano and made his first beat. He began practicing more in the studio, and decided to stop MCing at the age of 14. He made tracks for other artists in Gorse Hill like Izzy and Skye. Zeek looks forward to further collaborations with other artists all over the country. In the future, Zeek hopes to own his own studio and continue to make his own music.
