GHS Rules @ Gorse Hill Studios

To access Gorse Hill Studios you must become a member and fill out a membership application form.  The membership fee is £1 per year and this can be paid on your first session.  Membership can be given to anyone aged between 11 and 25 as long as they live, work or go to school/college within the Borough of Trafford.

(*The Studio Management Team reserves the right to withdraw access privileges to individuals whose behaviour is out of order)

  1. No abusive behaviour
  2. No threatening behaviour
  3. No racism
  4. No weapons
  5. No drugs or alcohol
  6. No Graffitti and tagging on our furniture, equipment, walls, or anywhere else in the building.  Anyone found defacing Gorse Hill Studios property will be fined for the damage they caused
  7. Artists who have booked a session in Gorse Hill Studios must pay for their session upfront in cash prior to the start of the session.  Please check our price list for current session rates
  8. Artists who are more than half an hour late will lose their session unless they phone during that half hour (or before) to notify the member of staff concerned (studio phone number 0161 912 5251, 0161 8641745)
  9. Artists who completely fail to turn up for a session without phoning to cancel prior to the session will lose their place on the project/studio
  10. The youth music and arts workers have the right to ask people to leave the studios if too many people are present for meaningful work to be carried out. The staff member’s word is final. Anyone not respecting the staff members wishes may have their access rights suspended.
  11. People using the studios should be aware that anything created by the music and arts workers during a session towards a project, which is then commercially released is subject to copyright law  ( i.e. if we create it – we get paid ! ) Artists must ask for written permission if they wish to use someone else’s track, logo, film, photograph, artwork etc.
  12. Gorse Hill Studios reserves the right to use any recordings and/or artworks created in Gorse Hill studios for promotional purposes. By signing this agreement you are permitting GHS to include any of these works on any future releases of GHS’s annual “Showcase” compilation CD/DVDs
  13. By signing this agreement you are permitting GHS to play back your recordings or showcase your artwork to third parties. If you do not wish for other people to hear or see your work you must inform GHS staff in writing
